If some other alternative Christian group decided to throw together
the Gospel of Thomas, the Gospel of Peter, the Acts of John, and the

said of that grouping as well.

I can say the essence of the Gospel is in the New Testament (the
sermon on the mount, for instance) but still take exception to alot of
other materials in the NT (the writings of Paul for instance)

Dear Gilberto and Hajir,

The "Injeel" mentioned by Muhammed and the "New Testament" as compiled by the Nicaean Council are two different things.

Agreed.

The Injeel is the Gospels, the Evangel is the Gospels. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John constitute the Gospel. The rest of the Christian New Testament is commentary and NOT the Injeel or the Evangel.

In this context, When *I* say Injeel or Gospel (especially in the singular without mentioning the name in the author) what I mean is the revelation given to Jesus which is described in the Quran.

Peace

Gilberto
