Dear Gilberto,

He had everything come out to the number 19 which intrigued the
Baha'is as well for obvious reasons.
That same kind of algorithim had been used previously on the Torah
with the same results. Fact of the matter is you could use it on
virtually any text.
I had no heard that the system broke down however. As you may know
Rashid Khalifa was eventually assassinated by Muslim extremists, the
same ones who killed Prof. Ismael Faruqi.

I lived in Tucson where he operated his own masjid and I know that he
had a cult-like following but I never heard he claimed prophethood.

The Ibadis have historical ties to the Kharijites though they
currently reject the term. Bin Laden, of course, has no historical
ties to the Kharijites but it seems to me that most jihad wa  hijr
groups share significant portions of Kharijite ideology.
