Ok, David, now I'm confused (again.) Are you really saying that let's
take my standup sections 9+4 -- and let's say it does get a well on
it. A company (or must it be the original driller co of the existing
well?) can come in and put section 4 with section 5 and make a new
drilling unit? So then my acreage ownership in 4 would apply again to
the new unit? I think that is what you are saying, but just give me a
clarification, please?
The also, is there a possibility that the sec 9+4 original unit could
be joined also with another 1280 right next to it to form a 2560? Do
the principles still work the same --- number of net mineral acres
owned in relationship to the size of the total new unit?
I am wondering, also, why there are no diagonal units, except for the
very nature of sections being squared, and to go through a corner they
would have to include the 4 sections? (I think I just answered my own
mental meanderings there....)
I enjoy your thoughtful, thorough and well researched answers, by the
way.... thank you!
Rufus
