Kalau kita lihat di Jawa, sepanjang rel berdiri rumah-rumah kumuh, padagang 
acung, segala aktivitas untuk mengais rejeki. Sedangkan rencana rel itu 
sepanjang pantai, sedangkan wisatawan datang karena ingin menikmati pantai yang 
tenang, kalau dah begitu, apakah masih ada wisatawan yang datang? Satu aspek 
mungkin menguntungkan yaitu memudahkan masyarakat berpergian, tapi karena 
lokomotif ekonomi Bali adalah pariwisata, bagaimana dengan aspek pariwisata? 
Apakah masih menguntungkan? Agak menarik juga justru Menteri Budpar yang 
kesannya sangat mendukung proyek ini.

Maaf Rekan-rekan, ikutan sedikit komentar :
Menurut saya kurang setuju dibangunnya rel KA di Bali, alasannya:
1) melihat aktualitas di Jawa (yang sudah dikatakan maju), hampir semua stasion 
fasilitasnya kurang memadai terutama toilet/ kamar mandi, ..ya seperti umumnya 
stasiun 
bus, juga seperti diBadung, mana ada yang bersih
2) disekitar rel baik di stasiun, apalagi diluar stasiun spanjang jalan KA rada 
jorok 
juga, karena kereta WC-nya tidak seperti bus atau pesawat..langsung bolong..
3) penumpangnya saya rasa tidak banyak. Belakangan ini (3th terakhir) saya 
hampir tiap 
3 bulan pulang Bandung-Bali naik kereta, ini karena terpaksa, istri tdk berani 
naik 
pesawat maupun bus karena tarauma dg bumpy, dan bus suka ngebut. Dari Bandung 
ke 
Surabaya atau sebaliknya rata-rata full, sedangkan yang ke timur (Surabaya ke 
Banyuwangi) paling banter sampai Jember terisi 80-90% dari 6 s/d 7 gerbong, 
begitu 
naik kapal menuju Denpasar tinggal satu bus kecil (fasilitas bus kayak angkot, 
tempat 
barang aja enggak punya), mana ada tourist yang mau naik kereta. 
Mungkin....kalau monorel seperti di Jepang atau semacam trem di Eropa..bisa 
jadi lebih 
baik. Trem maupun monorel cuman 2-3 gerbong saja tapi frequency ditingkatkan. 
Atau 
seperti yang sekarang sudah dibangun kearah timur Denpasar yaitu "by pass" 
lebih baik, 
tau ruas tertentu TOL.
