I have seen databases that won't clear.  Usually they are pretty obscure.
The "real data" always works for me, like calendar, etc.

Which database is it failing on?

Barrybackup should try to keep going when it runs into an error like this.
Maybe it is seeing an error I haven't before.

You can try disabling that particular database in the config dialogs.
