Hello all
After running ldconfig the right configuration is shown when I run ldd. I
didn't have to set LD_LIBRARY_PATH to get it working, apparently all is fine
now, will make some tests and let you know if there are problems.
The only inconvenience is that I have to run barrybackup as root, I hope this
won't mess up with anything.

Have you tried running `ldconfig' with root privileges after
installing? It worked for me.
