It's a config file . It's not specific to Debian, its specific to exim. -- Jeremy McSpadden Flux Labs | Endless Solutions Cell : 850-890-2543 | Fax : 850-254-2955

However, that script calls the debian-conf version of the exim4 config. I don't think you can just drop a new config called exim4.conf in /etc/exim4/ and expect that it will be read… ~Noah On Feb 3, 2013, at 4:08 PM, Raymond Norton <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> wrote: It should have created a startup script on install, but I can send you mine if you still need one. I'm talking about exim4, unless starting MailScanner will start exim4 also? ~Noah On Feb 3, 2013, at 1:45 PM, Raymond Norton<[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> wrote: Are you asking about MailScanner? I am using the exim4-daemon-heavy package. However, I have a few questions: 1. If I were to run both the exim.conf and the exim_out.conf (provided by Andrew), it seems to me that they are trying to both bind to the same port 25 on localhost. Am I missing something? This is how I'm starting the daemon for testing: /usr/sbin/exim4 -bd -q30m -C /etc/exim4/exim.conf /usr/sbin/exim4 -bd -q30m -C /etc/exim4/exim_out.conf I think I solved the problem by adding local_interfaces to both configs and assigning two ip addresses to the host. Is that bad? Also, I guess my general question is if there is a way I'm supposed to start exim4 with both configs at the same time? Also, does anyone have a modified debian/ubuntu init.d script to contribute? OK, I think I solved my first problem here. I thinking that exim.conf is the service that runs, and Mailscanner will call exim_out.conf. Therefore, I don't have a port binding issue.
