Just an FYI to list members that helped me trouble shoot this issue last 
week. I was able to get celeryd running fine, as long as I did not 
execute this line from the tutorial:

rm --r /usr/share/pyshared/baruwa/settings.py && ln --s 
/etc/baruwa/settings.py /usr/share/pyshared/baruwa/


Just tested it again on a clone of my vm and now celeryd will not run.
