That would have been included in the set of all, I would think.  ;-)

I tried the tool on all files in the package just to avoid wasting
the lists time on questions like "Did you run the tool on the
right file?"

That said, there is no bcmwl5.sys file in the sp34488.exe

There is a bcmwl6.sys and a bcmwl664.sys file.

Six inches from the lid of laptop to the antennas on the WAP.

The wireless signal detector doesn't even blip when I try to run
traffic over the link.

I'm pretty sure the transmitter power is set to such a low value,
or that that transmitter is off, that it is effectively not
tranmitting.

Receiving, yes, but not transmitting.
