hi all:
pyrethrins were formely a pesticide of vegetal origin. The plant is a
chrysanthemum (C. Cinerariaefolium), a compositae, and its content in the
flowers range from 0.7 to 3%. The vegetal pyrethrin acts as contact pesticide
and are very toxic to insects; its effect over human is of low toxicity.
However, those synthetic pyrethrins (for the first time in Germany, 1951) are
very dangerous to ourselves, LD50 30 mg/kg.
Don't you have any plant around to be used instead of?
warm thoughts
Nelson.
