Like Jon said, why don't you just ssh into the beaglebones from an Ethernet switch? Every OS works with BBB that way... Seems silly to use USB anyways...
I have used serial cables and Ethernet cables to develop with dozens of beaglebones with every OS from windows to Linux to osx...
