So true. I agree on this. I personally got the "Perl: A Beginners Guide" but I like how the Visual Quickstart Guides are done, except they are done on an old Mac box from the mid-90's. Other than that i love the Visual Quickstart Guides. I personally like using a Quickstart Guide or Beginners Guide and then jump straight to the reference manuals and web tutorials.
