Consider:
@week = qw(Monday Wednesday Friday);
print "@week\n";
splice(@week, 1, 0, "Tuesday");
print "@week\n";
splice(@week, 3, 0, "Thursday");
print "@week\n";
This prints:
Monday Wednesday Friday
Monday Tuesday Wednesday Friday
Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday
