My amateur eye couldn't find any mention of the license or copyright in the script or its config files. Is there a "source distribution". Because if there is no license, the software is in public domain and can be modified and redistributed. Not that we are going to do something like that, but I wonder if it might be simpler to just contact the author and request his permission for use.
