I have good luck with the Bach Flower Remedy 'Rescue Remedy'. Also an anxiety wrap will help http://www.alldogsschool.com/anxietywrap.htm I fashioned my own anxiety wrap using a Popular Mechanics lifting belt....the Velcro wide belt that we humans use when lifting heavy objects, to avoid back injury. I got my lifting belt at a local hardware store, Wal Mart, Lowe's, etc. I took the plastic 'stays' out of it, the stays made it too rigid. I fasten the belt snugly around the dog's back just behind the dog's front legs and Velcro it on. It does not fit as well as a 'real' anxiety wrap.... KV Vet carries one also http://www.kvvet.com/KVVet/search_results.asp?mscssid=06F3DC980C91F4A848890D2B943DAFD6&Gift=false&GiftID= but it does work. I sometimes have to re-position it as it tends to slid back toward the dog's tummy. Any dog that I have had, that has been anxious about anything has calmed quickly with an anxiety wrap on.
I have heard of others putting a snug t-shirt on their dog to get the same effect. I can not find a web site for the Popular Mechanic belt I have, but the following link will give you an idea. My belt did not have shoulder straps. But this photo shows the elastic and Velcro like my belt has. http://www.supports4less.com/mcdavid/backsupports/liftingbelts/494-industrial-backsupport.htm Gail Miller Cynosure Bernese in Arkansas [EMAIL PROTECTED] ----- Original Message ----- From: "Freya Steinmeyer" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Friday, June 27, 2003 5:05 PM Subject: drugged BMDs on the 4th of July > Any advice on BMDs who don't like 4th of July?
