Is it mean to give a tranquilizer to a human prior to a traumatic event (like surgery or dental work)? Of course not! Same with your dog. It is an act of compassion to help assist with a difficult situation. You are not drugging him forever - just enough to help him cope.
I think Bennington will thank you! I don't know what to do with my Bennington. Tranquilizers have come to mind; however, it seems so mean. Unfortunately, our house is very close to a fireworks show (extreme sound and sight). I have a feeling Bennington will be uncomfortable no matter how closed up and locked up the house is. He had a bad experience last year... too close for comfort. Any alternatives other than drugging Bennington? Freya M.
