You
have no idea what you are talking about.
The
software has not changed. It is Yahoo that provides the data. They only send the
correct data if you send them the correct symbol.
Yahoo
chose to make a change to use the numeric symbols which is a decision made by
several of the exchanges around the world.
Complain to the exchange in your
country.
