Under Windows "netstat -e" will get you basic ethernet stats (counts of
bytes, packets, errors, etc). The -s option will also list protocol
stats (TCP, ICMP, IP etc). If you want to get at the stats
programmatically there's a COM interface but I don't know much about
it.
