I thought I'd stumbled across a bug this morning when I saw my time remaining progress bar started full and emptied from the left. However, I see this was intentional (bug 3064).
In my opinion, this is a backwards step - the progress bar to me represents the progress through the song. I like my Player UI's in time remaining with progress bar mode, as I get the best of both worlds - I can see progress through the track and how long is remaining. The current display just confuses me. I'm not playing the song backwards, so why should the progress bar go backwards. It's irrelevant whether I also show time remaining or anything else. I'd be surprised if no-one other than me thinks this is backwards, as there were no complaints that I can recall seeing about the old display. Is there an option to change this back? Nb. I don't mind if this level of configuration is simply by modifying the prefs file by hand - a UI preference option isn't necessary, as it would be a one-off change.
