The GUI looks much, much better with the background colour. The text spacing and default messages will still be badly placed though. I keep opening up SC7 after a (failed) rescan to see the word "Empty" jammed up against the left hand side of the right hand pane. It is quite surprising how the font/placement/look/style of this one little word can ruin one's whole perception of the interface (and possibly for some, the product) when it draws the eye directly and immediately to it's obvious imperfection.
It an emotional response that instantly detracts from any feeling that you've just accessed a quality product.
