Well I like that colour scheme too, but thats not the whole point. The big problem with colour schemes is that they are SOOO subjective, partly because the colour behaviour of our eyes varies so much from one person to another.
What one person sees as a pleasant balanced colour combination can easily be completely unusable for another. As an aside, did you know that many dyslexic people find their reading problems greatly alleviated simply by putting a coloured plastic sheet on top of the writing - and that the colour that works best varies from one person to another? So we all know where this is heading - towards a request for full user control of the colour scheme! However, trying to be a little bit realistic: asking for a full UI to be created which allows people to define colour schemes is a bit much, at least this side of version 8.0 or whatever. As a compromise - would it be possible for the colour definitions to be pulled out into a separate editable text file? Doesn't have to be friendly or have a UI - just a list of fields and hex colour values would do fine. That would open up a "market" for people to play and post their colour schemes: sure, only a small number of people would feel like playing at such a low level, but you only need a few to create some alternatives. Anyway it wouldn't be long before someone in the community knocked up a little standalone tool to modify such files with visual feedback... As an optional extra, you could have a simple UI element which picked a particular colour scheme file from a list of those available, but even that's not essential for day one IMHO. The benefit for Michael and any subsequent skin developers is that they wouldn't have to try to make everybody happy at the same time! BTW - again on the theme of keeping it modest - I wasn't trying to solve all the world's problems by suggesting that this be a universal standard for all skins, although other skin writers might feel like following suit with a similar arrangement...
