In my experience, the best thing to do is have a play with the various
settings to get a mix that you like the look of, but my very short
explaination would be:

*style=x*
The similarity of style setting. 0 is low, 200 is high. So a style
setting of 150 means "artist with a style very similar to my seed
song", and a style setting of 50 means "artists with a style not that
much like my seed song".

If you set the style to be strongly preferred, you will only get songs
by a small number of artists, or from a small number of CD's. According
to the MIP site, a song must either be on an album of 6 or more tracks,
or the associated artist must have 6 or more songs in order for the
MusicMagic Mixer to associate a style with him or her.

I use a style setting of between 125-130 for what it's worth.

*variety=x* The variety setting. 0 is none, 9 is high. Determines the
amount of variety in the mix from a given seed song. If you select 0
you will always get the same "best" mix from a given seed song based on
your other settings. If you select 1-2 you will get a small amount of
variety if you trigger two or three mixes from the same song.

I find that a variety setting of 3+ is too much and reduces the quality
of the mix, so I tend to stick to 1.

I'm not clear if you are running the headless service of MIP or not. If
so, you need to set these options in the mmm.ini file as well.

*Genre=Yes/No* - if you want MIP mixes to be restricted to songs with
the same genre, select yes.

Change the MusicIP reload interval to 0 (server settings/MusicIP). The
import will only start when you do a full clear and rescan of
Slimserver/Squeezecenter.

Validating is the process that MIP needs to go through to analyse your
music before it can serve up mixes. If you haven't validated all your
music yet, I'd strongly recommend you do that before integrating it
with Slimserver. Validation can be pretty CPU intensive and I've
always found it best to let it get on with it.

I don't think so, only from MusicIP. I change the prefix for those
playlists to ZZ: so that they appear at the bottom of my list of
playlists and don't interfere with my normal Slimserver playlists.
