again, i don't do much with FLAC, but for mp3s after i setup the mp3tag
options, i can highlight all the files, click the red X remove tags
button, and all tags are removed EXCEPT the id3v2.3 ones i wanted to
keep.

your solution is one i wouldn't have thought of, and would be good for
tough tag removal cases, but i don't think it should be necessary to do
it that "extremely."
