The scan actually doesn't finish for me if I have a directory with a large number of large files(10G-20G per file). It scans to a certain point then stops and there is nothing in the log file indicating it stopped or had a problem. If i make several directorys of 100gig or so it scans through them all.
The way thumbnailing is done for video content. There is no control, you can't turn it off and you also can't specify your own thumbnail image. Mime type... this isn't configurable at all.
