Never had any problems with cmake since the beginning of cmake support, look at http://www.geneome.com/blender-tutorials/building-blender-with-msvc-using-cmake/ There is all the information you need to do the compilation. I try on winxp, vista and now windows 7 with the free edition of msvc ide.
