On my Laptop I switched all AA/Hinting off (using good Monitor optimized fonts of course) because the distance to the LCD is quite low. Here any AA makes me a headache. On my Desktop Display the distance is much larger and the resolution also a bit higer, so that AA actually helps in some cases and doesn't make a headache.
