Uh, that is exactly the reason I've joined this discussion. And I think that is the reason most people here are discussing this topic as well. I've got nothing against big Silicon Valley companies, but the main issue is that third-party closed plugins simply can't coincide with the GPL unless you somehow break the GPL, and that is something I would like to see changed.
