For me a reason to hold on to Firefox 2 instead of going to FF3 was
the terrible Awfulbar: it couldn't be customised the way it used to
display results like I wanted. But with FF3.5, that has changed.
Although the *manner* in which the results are displayed is still like
FF3, I can at least be sure that when I type 'bo' in the URL bar I see
'boardgamegeek.com' or 'bordspelforum.com' and not something like
'bodacioustatas.com' or 'smallcomputers.com/motherboards/Asus/'.
Especially the tendency of FF3.4- to display results with the keyed-in
search string in the middle of an URL was highly annoying. Apart from
reluctant sysadmins or crucial addons I see no reason why you would
want to continue with FF2 nowadays :-).

There are of course worthy alternatives: Opera, Chrome, ... .
