I use both bookmarks and the URLbar: on many occasions I'm way quicker with the keyboard than with the mouse. Since FF3.4- didn't allow me to specify the source of the URLs it would display in the URLbar, there would be lots of clutter I could easily do without. It would for example show me sites I visited briefly while searching for something, even if I hadn't typed in that specific URL. That's not useful.
