I see ... I was wondering wether it would be a viable (and
reasonable) option to have BibDesk auto create a new local-url field
every-time when a new file is dropped on the reference in the main
window... but then again how could one quickly substitute an existing
local-url entry with a new one? I guess it is a more frequent
operation to substitute an existing local-url with a new one rather
than adding a second or third file to a reference? So far as a
workaround I've been using pfdLab to combine my multiple files to one
single file. This preserves easy file handling via drag&drop and I
have a strict and easy to remember 1 reference - 1 file policy.

Not writing a feature request here - at least not yet ;)
Guess I am just sharing some thoughts about local-url to hear some
other opinions about that.
