I have 2 Brooks B17's with over 10,000 miles each and I've not had to retension either yet. I've lost track of my total number of Brooks saddles. 7 or 8 I'd guess. I have them on almost all my bikes, with a couple spares on the shelf. 3-4 years ago, Nashbar cleared them out for $25 each! I bought 3 at that time, should have bought more.
