Dear John, In my own case, I ride a bicycle, organize a bike race people don't come to; my newest car is 1967 and I only travel distances by rail. Yet I understand that as long as we do live in a world of scarcity and make believe we have a democratic process--the doling out of tax funds should be according to voting and pressure. Which is mostly how it has been. EW. That's also a press for more infrastructure for other mass transit options, and less for cars. Perhaps, with better infrastructure, we can up the percentage of Americans who are truly fit to ride bicycles regularly. |
