Poetic license--like much of journalism. The problem is when they
invent "color" for their story, they don't expect readers to know.
"Teutonic fidelity!" WISCONSIN=MADISON=GERMAN, heck----PRINT. Even
Progressive Bob LaFollette was hardly Teutonic.
