Calling all rail supporters! It’s time to come together and let our state officials know WE SUPPORT HIGH-SPEED RAIL. Transportation officials from Wisconsin and Minnesota have come together to make a plan for connecting our cities with inter-city passenger rail--and they want to know what you think! WisDOT is holding open house public meetings about the state of passenger rail in Wisconsin. The Madison meeting is this coming Tuesday, December 7, 5:00-7:00 PM at the Crowne Plaza, 4402 East Washington Ave. (across from East Towne.) What an opportunity to show that Wisconsinites want to modernize our transportation system. We want to create the jobs and boost the economy with efficient passenger rail. We want to connect our cities with the rest of the Midwest and we want to start NOW. But we need to show up. State officials have said that they think the success or failure of these hearings could make or break the HSR project in WI. If tons of supporters turn out for these hearings, or at least many more supporters than opponents, then we can persuade Governor-Elect Walker to move forward with this landmark project.
