After the Bike Fed mtg, a group of us tried to go for a group ride down the path along John Nolen around 2:30 & the path had not yet been plowed. I went as far as Lakeside but dropped off because I wasn't in the mood to bike any further in those conditions & basically headed home using the roads. The path through Brittingham appeared to have been plowed. -Aaron

This would be a good time to use this list to share information about the condition of bike paths and bike routes around town after the snowfall. When I biked down to the Farmers Market about 10:30 this morning, I found that the Southwest trail was in pretty good condition -- snow-covered by bikeable -- and so was the Brittingham Park Path. But then I got to the Capital City Trail -- which I think of as a Beltline for bikes -- and it hadn't been plowed at all, except for the stretch that gets maintained by Monona Terrace. I don't have studded tires, so I ended up walking for a while. Later on, I took a look eastward from the John Nolen/Blair St. intersection, and the trail looked unplowed as far as I could see. On the other hand, the Square and State Street were pretty good. Does anybody want to post a status report? _______________________________________________ Bikies mailing list [email protected] http://lists.danenet.org/listinfo.cgi/bikies-danenet.org
