Brenda, I appreciate your patience, but you should treat a biker like any other
vehicle on your right. If you can pass a bike and turn right without forcing
the to move over or brake, go ahead. We just don't like the ones that zoom by
and only clear us by 5 feet before they slam on the brakes and initiate the
Bat-turn. I nearly put a foot through a guy's window like that once.

(And yeah, cars creeping along behind me, or swerving 30 feet to the left to go
around me, do kinda bug me.)

Anyway, it's more an issue of safety than etiquette. Do whatever you feel safe
doing.

Subject: [Bikies] proper etiquette/law question for bikies

I happen to live on E Mifflin (bike boulevard) and work off of Wilson St (bike
boulevard) and encounter a lot of bikes while in my car . . . yeah, I know, the
real answer is park the car and ride a bike myself . . . but . . .

Frequently I need to make a right turn, and there is a bike in front of me
going slowly (up the Mifflin hill) or just slow, and I don't want to go around
the bike and then turn in front of them . . . and if I go slowly behind them
that seems to make them nervous . . . is there something I should do to let
them know its ok to just be slow and I"m patient? It certainly isn't right to
go around them and then turn, crossing their path . . .

Suggestions? Maybe there aren't any and I should just do what I do, its just
happened a few times in the last few days and feels awkward.
