You're doing the right thing. Once bikers see more people doing this, they'll
get less nervous. I don't know how far you are hanging back - I guess I could
suggest you hang back a few feet more and see if that helps.

It could be they wonder what you're doing. I assume you are signaling, but in
case you aren't, go ahead and do that - I love it when people use their turn
signals, even when they're behind me I can see them and it helps me understand
what's going on.

Subject: [Bikies] proper etiquette/law question for bikies

I happen to live on E Mifflin (bike boulevard) and work off of Wilson St (bike
boulevard) and encounter a lot of bikes while in my car . . . yeah, I know, the
real answer is park the car and ride a bike myself . . . but . . .

Frequently I need to make a right turn, and there is a bike in front of me
going
slowly (up the Mifflin hill) or just slow, and I don't want to go around the
bike and then turn in front of them . . . and if I go slowly behind them that
seems to make them nervous . . . is there something I should do to let them
know
its ok to just be slow and I"m patient? It certainly isn't right to go around
them and then turn, crossing their path . . .

Suggestions? Maybe there aren't any and I should just do what I do, its just
happened a few times in the last few days and feels awkward.
