I agree with you that cycling is an
issue with deeply political aspects. It's perfectly appropriate to discuss
the politics of cycling on this list, and debate political issues surrounding
cycling here.
I think what Dave objects too, and I agree with,
is that we should avoid broadsided partisan politics here. We're all on
this list, whatever our political stripes, because we bike, and care enough
about it to want to discuss it and advocate for it. Lets keep it focused
on issue advocacy related to cycling, where we can have a rational debate, and
leave the partisan politics to other forums.
