I looked at this service earlier today and played around with their API a bit. It is surprisingly easy to use, doesn't even need to be authenticated. https://api.stopforumspam.org/[email protected][1] This email address, despite not being an exact match (domain is one of those I carved out, but the user is not), does return a match in SFS. I don't see any integrations with Gitea on their website, but Gitea also has an API that could have a control agent talking to both. I think that might be a more elegant alternative to just manually triggering a check / cleanup for account activation status. It is also elegant in that it's just one button press in sessions where I am logged in, but still not ideal... So I think I'll spend some time working on this too.
