Hello everyone: This report comes on behalf of Keith Lee (Tiny).

It was a very hot (30C) and humid outing to the Constructed Wetland. However, 5 brave souls joined Tiny.

We have Killdeer (not as many as last weekend), our Trumpeter Swan (Oscar), many Marsh Wren singing up a storm, many Lesser Yellowlegs, Red Winged Blackbirds, Common Grackle, Blue-Winged Teal, Mallards, Robins, Mourning Doves, Song Sparrow, Swamp Sparrow, Black Crowned Night Heron, Green Heron, many Moorhen, Short Billed Dowitcher, Wood Duck, a family of Pied Billed Grebe (Maureen Riggs), Tree Swallow, and Maureen Riggs and I heard and saw the Virginia Rail.

Thank you Tiny for your time!

A reminder that the Constructed Wetland is open Saturdays 8:30am until 10:00. If anyone would like to enter at another time, please contact Rod and I as we have been authorized (by Tiny) to set up a time with any number of local birds who have permission to enter the Wetland.

On a side note, is there anyway that another Trumpeter can be brought to the Wetland? Oscar has been all by himself for a number of weeks now. I (personally) was just wondering if it would be feasible to bring a female for our Oscar. Oscar does not have any form of identification - not tag at all.

Maureen and Rod

Directions: The Constructed Wetland is located at the SE corner of
Brighton. From Hwy 401, take the Brighton exit 509 (Hwy. 30) and follow
it south into town. Go south through the two traffic lights, over
the railway tracks and follow the main road, now called Prince Edward
Street, south. About 1 km south of the tracks, the main road begins
to swing to the left and becomes Cty. Rd. 64. As this long turn
ends the Constructed Wetlands appear on the right side.
