Good evening Ontbirders.

This afternoon at Rondeau, several shorebirds were reported from the
mud on the shoreline near the Park Office, including a large flock of
Dunlin, and singles for Semipalmated Plover, Semipalmated Sandpiper
and Least Sandpiper. Four Ruddy Turnstones were seen from the beach
on South Point Trail. Foggy conditions for a significant portion of
the day were not especially helpful in the search for migrating
Whimbrel - the tally for today was a disappointing zero.

Yesterday, observers reported seeing 3 Green Herons on the Marsh Trail.

A surprise on my bird hike this afternoon was a Brown Creeper on South
Point Trail. This is presumably a breeding / summer resident bird -
this species has nested in the park.

Near the park, the ongoing saga of the phalaropes continues at the
Blenheim Sewage Lagoons. Yesterday's installment featured 3
Red-necked Phalaropes, (2 females and one male), and one Wilson's
Phalarope (quite pale). Stay tuned.

Good birding!
