Canada Geese have arrived in huge numbers in the Ottawa area. This afternoon I
noted among them an Adult (white) Ross's Goose on the 3rd line just south of
Brophy Drive (from highway 416 exit at Brophy Drive, head west, turn south on
3rd line) and a Greater White-fronted overflying the Burnside Pit (Moodie Drive
just south of Trail Road). Also present in the flock of gulls loafing on the
ice-covered pond at the Burnside Pit were 2 Adult Lesser Black-backed Gull.
