Greetings: We have two young Osprey on the nest. They have been named Jim and
Chris. Jim is for
Jim Phillips for the ex-director of public works for his incredible support.
Chris for Mayor Chris Herrington for
her continuing support. This represents the 4th and 5th babies that have been
born at the wetland.
Catfish (2008), Hunter, Junior (2009) and now Jim and Chris (2011)
The Ruddy Duck is still present. The female has not been seen - perhaps little
ones will be seen soon.
The Moorhen chicks are quite large now and easily seen. I watched in amazement
as a group of little
Wood Ducks actually dove under the surface of the water when the hen announced
my presence. Amazing, I have
never seen that before.
The Constructed Wetland continues to be a place of total wonder.

The wetland is located exactly 7.2 kilometres south of the eastbound 401 at
exit 509. Just follow the road.
