The first day of the Festival of Flight at Rondeau Provincial Park had a
rainy start with several new migrants arriving such as Parula and Cape May
Warblers. A Prothonatory made a brief appearance on Tulip Trail and in
total, 11 warblers were seen. A Yellow-breasted Chat has been hanging out
near the first bench on South Point trail for a couple of days. It has been
viewed by many patient and or lucky visitors. The White-winged Dove has
returned for its third year in a row and is residing at 17168 Lakeshore
Road. Rose-breasted Grosbeaks, Orioles and Red-headed Woodpeckers are
numerous around the park. The first Ruby-throated Hummingbird has been
seen. Following is a link to the full list of the birds known to be seen
today (89 species). If you would like your sightings included on the days
list please share with park staff or come into the Visitors Centre and x
them on the sightings board. Guided hikes will be daily at 7:30 AM and 1
PM. Sorry I had the wrong Ontbirds address yesterday.
