Everyone is busy with Christmas-shopping or winter-preparing to think about list-writing! Some of you might remember that I'd had trouble having ewes give birth outside of February ever since I first got them four years ago. Well, this year finally, success. Three of my four ewes delivered (two with twins, no triplets this time) in the past month. I had either sold or removed all their previous lambs by the first of June. So, they must have gotten pregnant shortly after that.
If anyone in northern CA, near me, is interested in a ram lamb, give me a call. I have four and banded two. This week I will be finding out for sure whether or not banding results in a lamb being able to gain more weight. If I remember right, Carol has said it doesn't make much difference at her place. Here, from the looks of them, they seem to be bigger than their parents after just 10 months.
