Hi Kristen,

Onalee gave you great advice on how to help your lamb learn to eat solid food.

I am currently raising a bottle lamb, too. She is always with the rest of the flock now, and I take her a bottle twice a day. She is eating grass and grain, but always has room for a full 20-oz bottle.

I plan to wean her when I wean the rest of the lambs, somewhere between 10 and 12 weeks old. A couple weeks before that, I plan to start cutting back on the milk, which is what a ewe will do, to force her to eat more grass and grain. If anyone else has any suggestions or tips, I'd appreciate them. Larry M., when do you wean your bottle lambs?

Carol
