I know how you feel. My little black belly,
Carolina, who I have bottle fed since she was two weeks old, used to cry for me
all the time and she still does some. I got her a companion. I put the
word out I was looking for a young black belly around three weeks old who needed
a good home. I finally found one, Lucy, her mother died when she was three weeks
old, and her owner gave her to me. I built both of them a small pen near our
house with a small shelter for them and lots of hay, grain and water. Now
they are inseparable and they taught themselves how to eat grass, hay and
grain. I never even showed them. They are both now five months old and doing
wonderful and are best buds. Carolina still cries for me some and I think she
always will but it's not so distressing now. If you can't find a small
blackbelly for her a small dog might do. My dog loves them both and they
all play togehter and if I had not found a little black belly to put with
Carolina, I would have put my dog with her - just make sure it's a gentle dog.
Good luck and I know it's so sad to hear them cry but they will eventually
get used to it. Good Luck!
