I called the FSA office in Bosque County (central Texas). The County Extension Agent there said he was not sure that Barbados Blackbelly sheep were eligible for this program. He termed this program as a "cruel joke." He says it makes no sense for sheep raisers of any type to keep their ewe lambs "unbred" for 18 months for $18.00/per lamb. The extension agent was not supportive of the program. FYI, this is the local interpretation of the Ewe Lamb Retention Program.
