Hi Jessica, How many really depends on where you are?  I am in Texas and it has been a wonderful spring and summer and not enough stock to eat all the grass and foliage.  But come next summer it will be dry again.  So we stock for the average year. In our county average is 6 sheep or goats to 25 acres. So a good answer might come from a county extension agent or a neighbor.
