Hi Carol, thanks for answering! Ummmm, I just now put my ram in with the ewes so I'm pretty sure they were not bred except for 9 which I recently bought, they were already bred. No, they do not get a bunch of excercise, most of it is to the hay rack and back to where they lay down! You may be right about fluffing up for winter......the 3 ewes I origionally bought were in poor condition when I bought them and now that these ewes are what I would like to think "well taken care of" maybe this is what they are supposed to look like. So, when I remove the ram, I can put my dog back in with the more passive ewes and he and I play chasing sheep right? I worked hard to get the sheep to like me and not be afraid of me and now I have to chase them around with a dog no less. Isn't life a kick! Ya just never know do ya from one day to the next with critters as to what is going to happen. I love it!! Carol, have a good day and as always, Thanks! Sue
